Updated Richmond Park Earthworm Report

We recently held two earthworm talk and dig events at Richmond Park and continued the sampling initiative we began last year. The specimens collected have all been identified and we can confirm that an additional 42 earthworm records were created.

Preston Montford Field Meeting 2015 Report
Our Preston Montford Field Meeting 2015 was a huge success. The team sampled sites across Powis Castle (Powys, Wales) and FSC Preston Montford (Shropshire, England). In total 51 new earthworm records were produced and 14 new earthworm recorders were trained in the identification course.

Earthworm Records Report 2014
The ESB are pleased to bring you a report summarising the successes of the National Earthworm Recording Scheme in 2014.
Over 2,400 earthworm records were submitted in total during 2014!

2014 - The Year In Numbers
2014 was a fantastic year for the ESB.
We welcomed lots of new members, Facebook followers and earthworm recorders to the ESB family.

The United Nations have declared 2015 the International Year of Soils.

Capstone Farm Country Park Earthworm Report
The Capstone Farm Country Park Earthworm Report has just been released by the Earthworm Society of Britain. It is available to download from our website via the link below and includes information regarding our findings during the sampling day of our Kent Field Meeting 2014. In total 8 sites across the park were sampled by a team of volunteer earthworm recorders. 11 different species of earthworm were recorded through soil pit sampling and searches of microhabitats ( such as dead wood, leaf litter, grass edges, wood chip and ditches).

The Earthworm Society have teamed up with the writer Sonja Copeland Bloom and the Amateur Entomologist Society and to create a book about earthworms called Eddie the Earthworm saves the day!
