The ESB is committed to delivering training to potential earthworm recording through the delivery of regular training courses. Training courses may be run in partnership with other organisations and, as a result, prices may vary. The following types of training course/event may be delivered by ESB tutors on behalf of the society.
Introductory Level Events/Courses
Earthworm talks - presentations to natural history groups, the general public and children. We have previously given talks on behalf of Richmond Park, the Wildlife Trust for Berks, Bucks & Oxon and The Holland Park Ecology Centre. Beginner Level Events/Courses
Earthworm Ecology courses - These one day beginners' courses will take you through the biology and ecology of these fascinating ecosystem engineers, and explain why all earthworms are not the same. Participants will be introduced to the different sampling methods for recording earthworms. For upcoming Earthworm Ecology courses, check out the upcoming events.

Intermediate Level Events/Courses
Earthworm Identification Workshops - The ESB can provide tutors for one day earthworm identification workshops and have previously delivered these workshops on behalf of the Local Environmental Records Centres Wildlife Trusts and FSC Biodiversity Fellows Project in 2013. Earthworm Identification Weekends - The ESB run regular two day Earthworm Identification Weekends with the aim of creating new records and training new earthworm recorders, as well as providing support to existing earthworm recorders. Earthworm Key Testing Workshops - We will be testing the upcoming Field Studies Council earthworm key (2nd edition) in a FREE workshops. The workshop will be lead by the author of the key, Emma Sherlock and the ESB recording officer Keiron Derek Brown. We would like a mix of abilities, so both experienced earthworm recorders and those new to earthworm identification are welcome. Advanced Level Events/Courses
Advanced Earthworm Identification - This course is currently in progress and will involve earthworm dissection techniques and identifying non-British earthworm species found in artificial environments (such as greenhouses). Coming soon!
