Earthworm Society of Britain launch event
The Earthworm Society of Britain was launched on Saturday 31 October, 2009.
To celebrate the launch of the Society we held a scientific test of worm charming methods in Hyde Park
We tested four different methods: fork twanging, grunting, tapping and music. We also had a control where no charming took place. Full details of the methods and the results will be available here soon.
Eighty people attended the launch and great fun was had by all. A BBC film crew were also in attendance to record the days events as part of the Natural History Museum's TV Series 'Museum of Life'. The ESB and various Trustees featured in the very first episode!
